1.can pregnant or breastfeeding women use products with salicylic acid?
There is no restriction in the use of Salicylic acid for pregnant or breastfeeding women when the concentration is below 2%.
However, following the European regulation, we do not recommend using any products containing more than 2% of Salicylic acid.
2.What is the difference between foamer 5 and foamer 15?
The difference between the two products results from the intensity of the glycolic acid concentration. Foamer 5 contains 5% of glycolic acid and Foamer 15, 15%. The glycolic acid or AHA (Acid α-hydroxy) derived from fruit acids is known for its keratolytic action. It easily penetrates the skin to stimulate cell renewal by destroying the bonds that bind dead cells together. Foamer 15 is more intense and is ideal for normal to oily skin.
3.Why do you use 3 different forms of vitamin can the Tri Vita C30?
The combination of three forms of Vitamin C in the Tri Vita C30 creates a unique synergy that optimizes the product's efficacy.
These three forms are characterized by different behaviours in relation to cell membranes: Ascorbyl ester is fat-soluble and penetrates well throughout the cell membranes, whereas Ascorbic acid and Ascorbyl silano remain on the surface since they are water-soluble.
The fat-soluble form can therefore act more deeply to promote deep restructuring, while the water-soluble forms exert their action in the epidermis for enhanced protection and regeneration.
4.What spectra does the sun ceutic cover?
Sun Ceutic 50+ contains a combination of chemical filters and mineral filters.
They ensure high protection SPF but also protection in the two fields within the ultraviolet rays spectrum: UVA and UVB.
We have evidence demonstrating that Sun Ceutic 50+ offers a broad spectrum of protection on the UVB (SPF50+) and UVB spectra.
5.what is the origin of glycerin in k ceutic?
The Glycerin used by Dermaceutic is 100% derived from a natural origin.
6.Which products are suitable for pregnancy or breastfeeding?
During pregnancy or breastfeeding, it is not recommended to use:
- Activ Retinol 0.5 and 1.0, C25 Cream, Mela Cream, Yellow Cream (due to the presence of Vitamin A and its derivates)
- Tri Vita C30 (highly concentrated in Vitamin C)
- Foamer 5 and 15, Mask 15, Light Ceutic, Turn Over (due to the presence of fruit acids such as Glycolic acid in high concentration).
Please note that it is advisable to use an SPF 50 every morning to avoid melasma which is a common skin reaction when pregnant because of hormone disruption and sun exposure.
7.when to stop using active retinol 0.5, is it suitable during summer?
Activ Retinol 0.5 is indeed a product that can sensitize and make the skin more reactive when used too often. This is due to Retinol, a very powerful molecule recognized as one of the standard active ingredients for anti-aging (because it stimulates fibroblasts to reinforce the structure) and its "irritating" effects are mainly due to its action that stimulates cell renewal which provides a beautiful radiance, tightens pores, and gives a smoother skin texture. It is therefore important to avoid using it too intensively and to avoid combinations with other AHA-based products. We do not limit the use of the product to the winter period, but we strongly recommend using it in the evening and spacing out the use if there is discomfort.
8.are all products suitable for patients with nut allergies?
When using skincare products, the risk for nut allergies is small or non-existent since the ingredients used (for example oils produced from nuts) have been refined to the point that most of the proteins which may cause allergies have been removed.
In case of doubt, please test the products behind the ear and check 24 hours later for any reactions.
Here is a list of examples of Dermaceutic products which include nut derived ingredients:
- Yellow Cream (Prunus amygdalus dulcis)
- Hyal Ceutic (Butyrospermum parkii)
- K Ceutic (Butyrospermum parkii)
